The varsity girls field hockey team faced Abington at Teamer Field on Monday, Oct. 21. The girls started out strong. They managed to lead with a strong offense, and halfway through the first quarter, Kate Galica scored, setting the score to 1-0. With 5 minutes remaining, Galica managed another goal, with the score of 2-0 by the end of the first quarter.
The Pioneers maintained their lead throughout the second quarter as well. Galica scored, once again, and set the score to 3-0. The Pioneers did not let the opposing side score once and kept a strong defense. With 8 minutes left, Annie Hirshman made another goal for ‘Stoga. The pioneers were leading with a strong score of 4-0. Then, with just one minute remaining, Chloe Ziegler scored the last goal of the game. The pioneers won 5-0 and will now play against Downingtown.
