After another season of play in the NFL, the Eagles had an eventful season with substantial highs and appalling lows. Throughout their regular season, the Eagles held 9-7 score, keeping them second in their conference.
The absence of Carson Wentz, Jay Ajayi, and Jalen Mills left a heavy burden on the team. Yet again, Nick Foles, Malcolm Jenkins, and Jake Elliott carried the team to their second consecutive playoffs. Due to the key acquisitions of players, Golden Tate III and Michael Bennett in 2018, another Super Bowl ring looked likely for the players and the fans.
Unfortunately, their dream would not become a reality. During the playoffs, the Eagles narrowly made it past the Chicago Bears, when a physics-defying kick by Cody Parkey rebounded off the uprights, sending Philadelphia to New Orleans for a spot in the conference championships. After a contested battle with the formidable New Orleans Saints, a missed catch by wide-receiver Alshon Jeffery sent the Eagles back home empty-handed.
However, looking to the future, coach Doug Pederson looks to bring in offensive line reinforcements while keeping the coaching staff as well as Carson Wentz.
Leaving the question on everyone’s minds, will the Eagles be able to win the Super Bowl again?
