On Oct. 27, the girls’ varsity soccer team took on Pennsbury High School at the District 1 Playoffs. The Pioneers got off to a strong start, with the first goal of the match being scored by senior Emily Wertz with an assist from sophomore Kristi DeRico.

Just a few minutes later, the Pioneers would strike again when senior Sydney Sloan scored the second goal of the match, bringing the score to 2-0 in Conestoga’s favor. Wertz would then score her second goal with senior Nia Scott on the assist, concluding the first half with a score of 3-0 for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers played a defensive game during the second half and held their lead. However, with a minute left in the game, the Falcons pushed back and made their first goal of the match, finishing the game with a score of  3-1.

The Pioneers will play Penn Ridge during the District 1 semi-finals on Oct. 30.
