The Hills are coming to the Main Line! Are these not the best costumes? Ugh, as if! Another perfect pair for friends, Cher and Dionne are without a doubt the queens of their Beverly Hills high school. But using their language is basically a requisite for this costume. Someone tries to tell you you don’t have the best costumes at the party? An eye roll and, “Ugh. As if,” will quickly put them in their place. When the party ends? “That was way harsh” will easily communicate your dissatisfaction. You’ll be rollin’ with your homie to the best costume award in no time!

Arguably the easiest costume to round up on the list, Joel Goodsen is your man for any last minute Halloween costume needs. When his parents are away, Joel will play, and so will you. Just be sure to slide past doorways and use your candlestick as a guitar as often as you can to pay tribute to this classic.
What You’ll Need:
- Pink collared shirt
- White dress socks
- Black Ray Bans
- Shorts (for underneath)
- Candlestick

[media-credit name=”Source: wikipedia.org” link=”https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0b/PulpFictionTwist.jpg” align=”alignnone” width=”353″][/media-credit]
If you ever thought $5 was way too much money for a milkshake, you and Vincent Vega have a lot in common. And if if your husband ever threw someone out a window for giving you a foot rub, you and Mia would have something to chat about. Just two of the many memorable characters of Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction” classic, Vincent and Mia know how to have some fun with good food and just a little music. Be prepared though. You’ll probably be challenged to a twist competition.
What You’ll Need:
Vincent:
- Black jacket
- Black pants
- White collared shirt
- Bolo tie
Mia:
- Black pants
- White collared shirt
- Short, black wig
6. Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted “Theodore” Logan from “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure”
[media-credit name=”Source: giantfreakingrobot.com” link=”http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/bill_and_teds_excellent_adventure_35.jpg” align=”alignnone” width=”382″][/media-credit]
In their first movie, Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) traveled time to keep from flunking their final report. You won’t be under that sort of pressure, so make sure to have fun with these costumes. They’re nothing without a little bit of performance. While in character, be sure to call things “most righteous,” “excellent” and “triumphant,” break into brief fits of air guitaring and tell everyone to “Party on!”
What you’ll need:
Bill:
- Loose, cropped white t-shirt.
- Baggy jeans, rolled up. For best result, add a red question mark on left leg.
- Blue/purple flannel, to tie around waist.
- White converse. For best result, use red laces.
Ted:
- Gray sweatpants, rolled up.
- Long, loose-fitting black shorts.
- White t-shirt. Van Halen preferred, but not required.
- Black vest.
- Red jacket, to tie around waist.
- Grey/red socks.
- Black converse.
7. Kuzco and Pacha from “The Emperor’s New Groove”
[media-credit name=”Source: disney.wikia.com” link=”http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140313194047/disney/es/images/8/8d/Kuzco-Pacha_maqueta.png” align=”alignnone” width=”330″][/media-credit]
“The Emperor’s New Groove” is perhaps one of the most underrated Disney films. As young ones, we couldn’t appreciate John Goodman’s performance as Pacha or the jokes David Spade could only say in the context of being a llama. These two costumes are only a starting point. If you’ve got more friends interested, bring them to the (figurative or literal) party as Yzma and Kronk!
What you’ll need:
Kuzco:
- Oversized red t-shirt
- Belt
- Big blue earrings
- Sandals
- Yellow hat/crown
Pacha:
- White t-shirt
- Green poncho
- Brown shorts
- Brown hat
- Sandals
8. Theodore Twombly from “Her”
[media-credit name=”Source: brownsfashion.com” link=”https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/browns.blog/2014_01_theadore-twonbly.png” align=”alignnone” width=”329″][/media-credit]
We get it. Group costumes can be fun, but sometimes they just don’t work out. If you’re riding solo come Halloween, you don’t need anyone but your phone. Channel Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix) and take Siri out for the night.
What you’ll need:
- Orange button down
- Khakis
- Brown tortoiseshell glasses
- Brown mustache
- Your phone
9. Lloyd Dobler from “Say Anything…”
[media-credit name=”Source: thetattereddragonfly.com” link=”http://thetattereddragonfly.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/622×350.jpg” align=”alignnone” width=”213″][/media-credit]
Many of us are familiar with the infamous scene in which Lloyd Dobler stands outside a window and blasts “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel for his lady love, Diane Court. It’s not Valentine’s Day yet, so our motivations here are purely for the icon status. If you’ve been designated DJ for the night, this is the perfect costume for you. If not, use it as an opportunity to kick out the jams.
What you’ll need:
- Dark grey training pants
- White t-shirt
- Long, khaki coat
- White sneakers
- Boombox
10. Wade “Cry-baby” Walker and Allison Vernon-Williams from “Cry-Baby”
[media-credit name=”Source: galleryhip.com” link=”http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VPRFtHYXUtQ/U0v9EXOiFjI/AAAAAAAAKsE/RB_vA7Q19ow/s1600/wpid-Johnny-Depp-Cry-Baby-dreamlanders-31053091-1200-822.jpg” align=”alignnone” width=”300″][/media-credit]
These classic “bad boy, good girl” costumes could easily be mistaken for Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson, so make sure that when people ask you if you’re dressed like the people from “Grease,” you vehemently deny the fact. Give John Waters the recognition he deserves.
What you’ll need:
Cry-Baby:
- Jeans
- White t-shirt
- Black leather jacket
- a single tear
Allison:
- White dress. The bigger the skirt, the better.
BONUS: Anyone from “The Matrix”
This is an additional form of homage to the illustrious Keanu Reeves, an opportunity to be undertaken by devotees only.
What you’ll need:
- As much black leather as you can find
- Black sunglasses
