The boys’ varsity basketball team faced off against Penncrest on Jan. 15.
The Pioneers got off to a slow start but quickly picked up the pace, making up any lost points. With just seconds left in the first half, senior Brooks Rush made a shot that put the boys in the lead with a score of 26-22 at halftime.
The boys played with determination. They caught rebounds, made foul shots and thundered down the court, fighting for every point.
By the fourth quarter, the score was extremely close, with the teams within just a few points of each other. The Pioneers scored several foul shots that allowed them to hold the lead for the rest of the second half, finishing the game with a final score of 51-47 and bringing home the victory for the Pioneers.
